Cepmed promotes the science and practice of personalized medicine for the benefit of our health care system and economy. Personalized medicine is an approach to health care that takes into account each person’s unique genetic background to optimize the treatment and prevent disease. Personalized medicine is a disruptive technology with the potential to transform our health care system and the role each of us plays in it as payors, users and deliverers of health care. The benefits of personalized medicine have been highlighted in numerous examples which simultaneously improve patient health outcomes and save costs to the health care system.

Commercialization of Technology Platforms
Cepmed has developed a number of public-private partnerships that support biomarker discovery and development and clinical trials incorporating pharmacogenomic testing.

Education and Promotion
Empowering health-care workers, patients, and policy-makers with information that will accelerate the adoption of personalized medicine.

National Physician Survey of Knowledge and Practice in Personalized Medicine
This survey of Canadian cardiologists, oncologists, and family physicians will document current practice and perceptions of personalized medicine tests and their potential impact on patient care.
